Intimidator Camaro by Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet
One of the most iconic nicknames in NASCAR history belongs to the legendary Dale Earnhardt: The Intimidator. Known for his aggressive, no-nonsense driving style, Earnhardt struck fear in his competition and earned a reputation that transcended the sport.
In tribute to his legacy, several custom “Intimidator Edition” vehicles were produced over the years—some through Chevrolet and others through Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet. Among the most notable was the 2001 Dale Earnhardt Intimidator Camaro. A decade later, to mark its 10th anniversary, Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet, along with Samuel Jackson, created another one.
The Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet Intimidator Camaro, unveiled April 29th, 2011 at Dale Earnhardt Day, is empowered by a highly modified, supercharged V8 the produces a neck breaking 704hp and 695lbs of torque at 11psi boost! While driving this machine the only thing that you will want more of is open roads. Also adding to its substantial performance is a highly modified suspension, chassis, exhaust system, rotors and fuel system. It even sports a racing, Intimidator shifter that is built from one solid piece of aluminum, is grooved for improved grip and is anodized black with a 3 on top as well as an Intimidator logo down the shaft. But power isn’t the only thing that will make this car monumental. Its appearance carries definite cues from the race cars that Dale Earnhardt used during his reign of Intimidation. Cues like a racing inspired, aluminum blade spoiler with support braces and a little more modern racing splitter with support braces for improved downforce. To push more air to the monster of an engine, as well as to give it an even more threatening look, a front induction hood with a raised cowl is installed. Finishing off the look is chrome plated Intimidator badges, a classic looking heritage grille, menacing afterburner tail lamps and chromed wheels with Intimidator engraved on a spoke.
The car garnered national attention, appearing at prestigious venues such as Daytona International Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and the NASCAR Hall of Fame. It was also featured in numerous videos, websites, and publications—including the pages of Hot Rod Magazine.
